Wedding season is in full swing, and although only attending two this year (as opposed to last year’s five), my mind is firmly in the outfit zone.
I love a midi for a wedding – being tall, they make me feel so much more comfortable than anything short and avoid any risk of not looking appropriate. I wore this one twice last summer and it’s a firm favourite – I’ve seen loads similar on the highstreet this year (the long sleeves coupled with the low neckline are a big selling point for me). But do you know what’s even more comfortable? The jumpsuit. I dabbled in a navy ASOS number for a March wedding last Spring and I was totally converted. No risk of riding up or unfortunate gusts of wind. The jumpsuit wins in my eyes, so for the first in my wedding guest outfit inspo series, I’ve got a monochrome number. Accessorising a black and white number couldn’t be easier – and you needn’t just think inside the box, a pop of colour could work just as well as black.
This particular jumpsuit is made of a super lightweight material but the palm pattern means it stays opaque, with a wrap over top and a tie waist to cinch you in. And it’s from somewhere I wouldn’t have thought to shop before – Simply Be. Heralded as a leader in plus size fashion, I was surprised to see Simply Be actually start at a size 12 and there was so.much.stuff I loved on their site. Goes to show that perceptions can often be proved wrong, and working with them for this post has allowed me to broaden my shopping opportunities online. Their holiday shop looks ideal for the summer holiday we haven’t yet booked (and there’s a few pairs of jeans I’ve got my eye on!). The jumpsuit is from a brand called Lovedrobe and the tropical print is what sold it to me – a monochrome wedding guest option is ideal to have to hand. Teamed with the right accessories, it’s such a winner time and time again. I paired it with some slightly more detailed shoes than my usual style – I think the tie ankles add to the look and I’d finish it off with a simple black clutch.
I’m hoping to share some more wedding guest inspo outfits over the summer – let me know if there are any particular looks you’d like to see!
