top 5 high summer products

Summer is the toughest time when it comes to beauty.

I wrote about some new-in products for summer 2016 in this post, and today I’m rounding up another group of goodies which I’ve found myself using continually. Obsessing over, if you will. These five products are giving me that boost we all need when the sun is melting our make up and the humidity is turning us all Monica Gellar…

S Factor Silky Smooth Moisture Serum

My oh my. When I first got my hands on this, I just knew it was going to be a winner. Anything that’s about hydrating my tresses is a hit for me, and S Factor always come up trumps. Their products all smell like strawberry milkshake and this is no exception. The Moisture Serum can be used on wet or dry hair and I’ve found myself using it on both. My hair needs a trim so the ends are a bit flyaway and frizzy – this not only smooths it down when applied to damp hair, but tucks any unsightly ends away when it’s dry too.

MAC Prep & Prime Highlighter

Described by MAC as a ‘pen-style highligher’, I have this rather ambiguous product in the shade Light Boost. Too sheer to count as a concealer, although flesh toned in colour, Light Boost is a brightening yellow toned liquid that does amazing things to my under eye area. I wear this on top of foundation but under concealer (or sometimes alone) and it has been my go-to this summer for bright, light eyes.

Rosie for Autograph Starstruck Highlighter

As someone who claims not to be a highlight kinda gal, I’ve managed to sneak in two products! This was a birthday present and is my special occasion summin’ summin’. Not one to wear highlighter everyday, I save this for nights out – I prefer a cream formula so you can really blend it in and this champagne colour with a cool edged tone works so well with my MAC Prep & Prime highlighting pen. Worn over foundaiton but under powder products, I like to dab it in with my damp Beauty Blender for a seamless finish.

Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturizer

I picked this beauty up towards the end of last summer in the USA. Whilst browsing the Tarte foundations that everyone raves about, I was struck by how heavy-duty they were. Then I stumbled across this lesser known product and instantly fell in love. I got it in my ‘tan’ shade so it’s only just resurfacing for the summer months but it’s the most gorgeous base for combination skin. It evens out your skin tone whilst giving you a shine-less glow.

Moroccan Oil Luminous Hairspray

My holy grail hairspray – Moroccan Oil strike again! Not only does this smell divine, it holds my hair exactly in place. I tend to style my hair in loose waves which inevitably drop throughout the day but when I remember a spritz of this, the bounce is so noticeable all day long. I’ve been keeping the humidity at bay with this all summer so far and I’m not sure what I’m going to do when I travel hand-luggage next week without it!
