Before we get going with this post, let’s set something straight.
This isn’t a spring capsule wardrobe, nor is it an overhaul of beautiful treats to spice up my closet for the coming season. It’s four items, that I oh-so-luckily received as gifts for my birthday, that have given me a little boost as we come into Spring. I don’t shop very often these days, so when my 28th rolled around, I asked my Mum and sister for a few treats in the clothing department. I made an ASOS order with the help of Mum’s credit card, and my sister ordered me this beaut of a jacket. Let’s start with that.
Faux suede with a central zip, cute hidden pockets in the dreamiest terracotta shade, it was love at first click. I was looking for a suede-esque jacket for the warmer months, and was taken in by the range of colours on the highstreet. As I can be fairly monochrome, I was open to hue suggestions and the unique shape of this Dorothy Perkins jacket took my eye. With a nod to the 70s, it was the perfect way to inject some colour into my wardrobe. I’ve worn it everyday since and for £25 in the sale, it’s my favourite piece right now.
Speaking of 70s, I also received the much-coveted Chloe dupe bag from Marks & Spencer. Hailed as the must-have spring handbag, it’s described as ‘the 70s shoulder bag’. A totally perfect size for day and evening, its something a bit different for me and feels remarkably grown up!
The next two items are through and through staples and I’m so happy to see them re-enter my wardrobe. Classic black jeans to start, I actually opted for a pair of Moms this time round, over my usual skinnies. Although pretty tight fitting and almost skinny in that sense, it’s lovely to have such a staple back in my wardrobe for everyday. Teamed with my new ribbed stripey jumper, I felt casual and refreshed. I wore this outfit on my birthday and shot these photos when we visited Limewood House for an afternoon of celebratory tea and cake!
