Record your adventure

Despite today being Valentine’s Day, we didn’t make any ‘couplely’ plans. Instead, we decided to head down to Southsea with two of our good friends to check out their homeware stores and boutique eateries. Southsea is part of Portsmouth and is a hidden gem. Cute streets with individual shops, vintage garages filled with unique interior finds and gorgeous lunch spots – too many to choose from!

We headed to The Bakery for lunch, which sadly doesn’t have an online presence, but it serves an amazing array of cakes and savouries – including my peanut butter brownie above. We sampled the full range, each picking out two courses and feeling suitably full afterwards. We headed down to Castle Road to browse the some of the home stores, peek in the window of Pie and Vinyl (I’m thinking for my birthday…), and then back up to the Marmion Road for more furniture browsing.

When the heavens opened, we jumped back in the car and headed to Wickham – a rural town more inland, where there’s an awesome old mill which has been turned into a huge antique and vintage store. Here, I picked up just a few bits including a one tiered cake stand that I’d be hunting for, for a mere £7.50 and a gorgeous patterned pasta bowl for 50p! Worth a look and a lovely day out with friends. We’re both now sporting our Onesies and awaiting out takeaway. Valentine’s Day what?
