“A woman’s perfume tells more about her than her handwriting” – Christian Dior

I’m not one to gush over perfumes – or really post too much about them here. I find them hard to describe first off, and second, it’s rare they last on me. I was brought up to only buy Eau De Toilette, but as I’ve got older I’ve realised the value of a good perfume, a proper perfume. Scents last and linger on others more than me, so in my eyes, the more intense the scent to start with, the better.

I was recently sent quite a unique fragrance to try, and when it arrived as an Eau De Parfum, my eyes instantly widened. The product in question is from a brand I’ve dabbled in before – Yves Rocher, a French beauty brand that sits comfortably in the middle of the price spectrum.

Flowerparty By Night is the name of the fragrance, a follow on from Flowerparty, the more day time scent – an ‘interpretation of the original scent with a daring touch’. When I think of nightime fragrances, I always think deeper, spicier and Flowerparty By Night is just that. The fragrance has an unusual liquorice accent which is noticeable but not recognisable. The scent is bold but still fresh and something I actually enjoy wearing daily.

With a Marc Jacbobs-esque bottle and flower cap, the perfume is compact and attractive. The 50ml bottle currently sits at just under £20, with a 49% discount in the January sales. You can find it (and all it’s counterparts) here if you’re interested  – my New Year scent of choice!
