style: styling up neons in the city

Before writing this post, I had a chat with my boyfriend about how he thinks he inspired the purchase of this dress.

Dress & Jacket – River Island | Bag – Mango | Converse – via ASOS | Sunglasses – Raybans | Necklaces – Topshop

He wasn’t with me at the time, but he always likes to dress himself in bright colours and slightly more outrageous things. Whether he’s right or wrong, I certainly felt like I stood out in this dress – one, for the colour, and two, for the length. Being so tall, a lot of summer dresses are borderline indecent on me. This one is a bit touch-and-go, but I couldn’t face a day in London on the hot tube, in and out of shops and battling Oxford Street in tight jeans.

The dress is scuba material, so I like that it’s a loose fit. I stupidly forgot to snap it without my jacket on, but it has slightly longer than average tshirt sleeves and is a pretty basic shift. Teamed with my Converse, I felt like it looked quite casual and young. And best of all, I picked it up really recently for just £15 down from £35. Fun and cheap – winner!
