life: taking time

Last week, myself and Lizzie ended up with the same day off work. With the sun shining and blue skies ahoy, we made our way down to the beach (one of the true perks of living on the South Coast). I knew of a good spot for lunch, and somewhere that did strawberry flavour Mr Whippy – what more could we want?

We made it low key, and settled ourselves on the beach after some grub with our books and ice creams. I even wore my most comfortable outfit, which might debut properly soon (in a slightly more gracious style!), but for then I paired it with my Ipanema sandals which are a dream to wear and really unique.

Being self employed, I often feel guilty if I’m not working 5 days a week…and then I remember all the  ‘out of hours’ work that goes into running my small business. Work isn’t just the time I am physically applying make up – it’s the long hours travelling, emailing back and forth, planning, researching, moodboarding and sometimes, even blogging comes as work. I know other self employed people will hear me on this! Sometimes you’ve gotta take some time, ignore the voices in your head… and make the most of having a weekday off with a friend!
